Chronicles of Running
Sunday July 27, 2008
Today I went for a run...ah...I miss the sport and although I have been running/walking here and there, it has not been consistent. Perhaps it has been my diet as of late, but for a few minutes into the run, I felt like a chain smoker....as I couldn't stop breathing super hard. But all turned out OK....and I am pretty positive I passed the 5K mark between going there and back. When I started off my run there was a guy in a car who stopped (actually..he was a teenager) and he said, "Hi, I'm Dillon"...I was like, "Hi, you're a loser." and then you have your occastional whistles from people who apparently have no life......that's the negative part of running...but the positive HIGHLY outweighs the negative. Today's run brought me to a few streets I have not yet been down. I only found one cent today, but lucky for me it was the year I was born....I don't think I have found one of those before....I also picked up someone's CD.......brought it home, but I think I will toss it....the smell of the fresh air reminded me of how fleeting summer is and how it is important that we run, walk or do whatever it is we do outside before we use our vehicles if at all possible.....especially now....as opposed to going to the gym I am running every day outside....and as the seasons change I will have much more to tell.....stay tuned for more of the Chronicles of Running. I don't care if you are interested to be quite honest, I am using this discussion as forum to blog my daily thoughts about my adventures and successes with running. While running, I thought to myself, I am looking forward to entering some local races and winning.....everyone NEEDS a goal.....what would life be like with no goals? The weather today was sunny for a few minutes, but mostly cloudy and muggy.
