I noticed that JD recently brought up an interesting question that I too have been curious about. Anyone seen Heath Ledger's new movie? How is the summer movie industry going? Anyone have any suggestions from the past or present? What about "Step Brothers?" Although you have to wonder if "The Dark Knight" is as good as they say......seems I would like to see that more...commentary? Anyone seen it?

There are a lot of good movies via Netflix as well....although my FAVORITE movie of all time is Good Will Hunting....but I also like A Beautiful Mind and The Wizard of Oz....

Anyone want to see The Dark Knight with me?

I seem to also be inspired by books- I have always wanted to read Virginia Woolf....her diaries especially...there are all her volumes at the library....this discussion also includes any good books you have read that you want to share...after all, many, if not all a good movie started with a book. Jane Austen or Virginia Woolf? Who do you prefer?

Speaking of "The Dark Knight", it has gotten some criticism by the way that they focused more of the Joker instead of Batman when promoting the movie. Some have said that it was them trying to exploit Heath Ledger's death. But all of that aside, I have heard it was a very good movie & definitely worth watching.

I was actually going to post something similar JD, but I think the media would be too ready to jump on anyone for saying it...I wonder if Heath Ledger's tragic death back in February (I think?) had anything to do with the popularity of the movie and how does it affect the awards for other nominees.......

I think I might see The Dark Knight tommorrow....might as well...seems like everyone else already has!

Good Will hunting is good. No I have not heard about the movie Dark Night. I have more movies on netflicks than I can think about.

I actually just saw "Good Will Hunting" tonight for the 1st time in about 10 years! Amazing how one's perspective can change over that length of time. I found it much more interesting overall than I did when I was younger.

I'm assuming that "The Dark Knight" is supposed to take place chronologically right after "Batman Begins" but before the other original Batman movies. Everyone seems to say that this movie is really "dark" but still definitely worth seeing. Maybe not best for young kids though.

Good Will Hunting...great movie-

"I went to go see about a girl..." love that ending!

I havn't seen The Dark Knight yet, but I guess Doone saw it yesterday....said it was very "dark" but good...I am still waiting for him to update us.....right now though he is probably feeding his chameleons....

I saw a DVD last night Drilbit Taylor...cute movie....

Net flix must be making mad money now that the Blockbuster closed down in Beverly. Anyone seen The Other Boelyn Girl or 21?

I thought about taking home a pet chameleon from my trip to Florida but thought better of it :)

Hard to believe that Blockbuster would be losing enough business there to close... I'm sure that Netflix is probably a much better deal, but Blockbuster here still seems to get a ton of business around here at least.

21 looks like a really interesting movie.... I have actually been wanting to see it for a while now (they were completely rented out last time I checked at Blockbuster). Actually, on Big Brother last season, a few of the housemates watched the movie "21" as part of their reward for winning a challenge... that is how I first heard about it.

SEE THIS MOVIE:

THE OTHER BOELYN GIRL

I knew a bit about Anne Bolyn from my studies in London, but I never knew so much about Mary and the relationship they had and/or their brother George Bolyn......JD was recently talking about freedom on another website......if we have too much of it, it can be a disastrous thing.....the THEME of this movie applies to us today as well.....

Brillianat, animated, you can RELATE to the characters, and one of the best films I have seen in a LONG time.....

RENT IT-

I'd love to know your thoughts. There's always more to the story than we know....or at least the limited amount of information I had about Anne Bolyn....the first queen to be beheaded.....

Santa moves from the North Pole to the Internet

Happy holidays from the Ning Team! While many people have today off, not all Ning Network members do. Waggleforce: Working together to get back to work

A waggle is the dance that an individual honey bee does, as he works for the greater good of the whole colony. Within a group of people working together, if each one does their own “waggle”, then a waggle force has been created. The Waggleforce Ning Network helps members collaborate with each other to create [...]

A new way of reaching out for Immaculata University

On Monday, we talked about a trend we’re seeing on Ning; admissions offices creating Ning Networks for their admitted students to connect with each other before arriving on campus. Today we’re posting the second of three interviews we’ve completed with Network Creators of three these Ning Networks. Up today is Derek Luther of Immaculata University. [...]

Is there life after New York?

A recent study found that New Yorkers are the unhappiest residents of the U.S., coming in dead last in a study of all 50 states. So what’s a New Yorker to do? For some, there’s a simple answer – leave. But how do you find the strength to leave a city that inspired the quote: [...]

Orientation starts early for incoming college students

Only a half-dozen years ago, incoming college students first saw their classmates in a “facebook,” a collection of headshot photos, which was mailed to incoming students. And they likely didn’t talk to their fellow incoming students until new-student orientation began after they arrived on campus. Times have changed, and Ning is fast becoming an important step [...]

Thisis50: If it’s hot, it’s here

Thisis50 makes a clear statement — if it’s hot, it’s here. Members can purchase 50’s latest album, Before I Self Destruct, and weigh in on their favorite track with a poll on the Main Page. It’s also the place to watch music videos, like the official “Do You Think About Me” video, which features 50’s [...]

It’s a Twilight Saga kind of year

There isn’t much more to say about Twilight at this point. If you haven’t read the books, caught a showing of the movie, stopped by the Twilight Saga Ning Network or chosen a side (Team Edward or Team Jacob), then you probably have found some secret lair that’s immune from the influence and effects of [...]
